Latest news about coronavirus and COVID-19 – updated 17 March 2020

17 March 2020: Here is the latest news from the Danish government about the initiatives to fight the corona-virus situation in Denmark:

From tomorrow, Wednesday, 10 a.m. all clubs, sport clubs, hairdressers, shopping malls, restaurants, cafés will close. Some restaurants will offer take-away and grocery shops in shopping malls will still be open.

Public gatherings of more than 10 people will be prohibited from tomorrow and it is strongly recommended also to follow these rules in private. Therefore, grocery stores among others are implementing further regulations to keep customers further apart.

There is no shortage of food! Shop as you normally do, or perhaps shop online at www.nemlig.com or www.coop.dk

Also, the Danish Queen, Her Majesty Queen Margrethe the 2nd, addressed the nation tonight with an appeal to follow the guidelines to prevent the virus to spread further.

The overall advice is still:

  • Wash your hands
  • Keep a distance
  • STAY HOME
